Once a revered leader of the Council of the Wise and the esteemed head of the White Council, Saruman the White succumbed to the dark allure of the Dark Lord, his gaze fixated upon the treacherous Palantír of Orthanc. This fateful decision led him down a path of corruption, stripping him of his former nobility and transforming him into a vile shadow of an Istari. His formidable intellect was redirected towards constructing an army that could rival the Dark Lord’s own. Saruman’s ultimate goals remain shrouded in mystery, yet his betrayal was evident as he wielded his arcane powers against his once-ally Gandalf the Grey, unleashing devastation upon Rohan as his forces ravaged the land.
Gríma Wormtongue, a native of Rohan, betrayed his homeland by aligning himself with Saruman, driven by promises of power and riches. His treachery allowed him to infiltrate the court of King Théoden, where his poisonous counsel sowed despair at a time when Rohan needed steadfast leadership the most. While he wields no blade, Gríma’s true strength lies in his ability to manipulate and undermine those around him, robbing even the most resolute of their courage as the Westfold burned.
In the midst of battle, the combination of Saruman the White’s dark sorcery and Gríma Wormtongue’s insidious influence creates a potent force, amplifying the brutal might of the Uruk-hai they command.
This set includes 4 plastic miniatures: Saruman both on foot and on horseback, Gríma Wormtongue, and a Palantír on a plinth. The models are supplied with one Citadel 40mm Round Base and three Citadel 25mm Round Bases. Their rules are detailed in Armies of The Lord of The Rings™.
